To become a licenced cook it is all about learning on the job. And we offer you a complete English SVH (Professional Hospitality Competence Foundation) course to make it happen for non-Dutch cooks who want to step up and get a licenced degree!
In general, cooks are practitioners and don’t want to spend too much time in school. That is why we think it is important that the training is mainly focused on practice, but that it is also a complete course, with a solid theoretical background.
During the training we go back to basic, but with the cooking techniques of today and with the use of modern equipment.
What are you dealing with?
- Are you working as a cook? Like a kitchen assistant, dishwasher or cook with a lot of experience, but without the technical skills?
- Are you passionate, do you have a lot of ambition, but do you sometimes miss some basic knowledge and techniques?
- Would you like to supplement your curriculum with what you already know, but which you have not yet confirmed?
Course content
Through this training program we prepare our students for the SVH exam to become a SVH cook in 22 weeks.
This SVH recognized training is primarily intended for kitchen/catering employees who have (some) experience in the kitchen, but are not trained.
Our training aims to increase the professional competence in the hospitality industry. The carefully developed study program is entirely devoted to practical knowledge sharing.,
During the course, a variety of different techniques and skills will be covered.

Coaching
The lessons are given by different chefs, who all have their own specialism. This ensures that the lessons are diverse and you can learn something different from each chef!
In addition, there is a mentor, who you can always turn to, if you have questions or if certain things are not clear.
COURSE PERIOD
The SVH Cook course consists of a total of 22 training days.
Time schedule
Lessons start at 8:30 am and end at 5:00 pm.

EXAMINATION
The exam consists of a theory part and a practical part. What to expect:
- Fill out preparation lists
- Perform mise en place work
- Preparing dishes & passing them on
- Carry out final tasks
